CANON INFORMATIONCHARACTER NAME: Zamasu
CANON: Dragon Ball Super
HISTORY: WIKI
STRENGTHS:
- Dutiful: this is actually his biggest strength and one of the major reasons why he somewhat functions as a teacher at Daybreak Academy. What motivates him is a certain loyalty to his master and the duties that come with being a good apprentice. This also reflects on his duties as a teacher and how he deals with filthy humans without wanting to do something about them that might be worse than Nightfall itself.
- Confident: the fun thing about this trait is that it is a strength and a weakness at the same time. Despite looking quite different than the average human there has never been a moment where he hasn’t been confident about who he is, his place in this world and his abilities. There isn’t any doubt about what he is going to teach his students and how this is going to happen. He will be the last one who you would find moping about looking different.
- Very outspoken: this is also a strength and a weakness. Zamasu does not beat around the bush with his opinion or views upon things. When things are being done ‘wrong’ (aka: not as Zamasu wants them to go), he will speak up. If his students aren’t performing the way they should he will put them through the wringer. Even though it will not make him everyone’s favorite teacher, his approach will provide the best possible training for his students.
- Methodical: pays attention to detail and works in a structured way. He prepares his classes extremely well, making sure that his students will learn what they need to know in the time that is available and that they learn exactly the things they are allowed to know as mere humans.
- Next to all this he is amazing at making tea and his master, Gowasu, has some boss level connections apparently!
FLAWS:
- Quite the misanthropist: This is actually his biggest vice and something that defines Zamasu as a person and teacher. He dislikes humans. Really, he absolutely despises them and even though his master has told him many times that his way of thinking is considered wrong (especially with Nightfall looming in the distance) and that humans are worth his time and dedication, Zamasu isn’t buying any of it.
- Harsh and quite cruel: Because he is forced to interact with beings he deems inferior to him he isn’t in the best of moods. This can seep through in the way he communicates and teaches. It does not take much to end up on his shitlist, really.
- There is no middle ground: To Zamasu there is either black or white. Right or Wrong. He is barely able to look upon situations or others and see a grey area or recognise that there isn’t just one side to a person.
Canon Abilities:[his abilities in the anime are far more destructive than they are in te manga (where they stay close to the base abilities of a Kai) but allow me to list them all]- Teleportation
- Blasting
ki (spiritual energy) to blow things up
- Telekinesis
- Super human strength & speed
- Flying
- He can concentrate his
ki around his hand for brutal slicing
- Releasing invisible ki-blasts (mid-air or through the ground) to send an opponent flying
- Healing abilities
- A prodigy when it comes to martial arts and hand-to-hand combat
AU INFORMATIONAU CHARACTER NAME: Zamasu
AGE: 23
POSITION: Teacher - Defensive Fighting Techniques
AU BACKSTORY:
Zamasu is what happens when a Fey and a human procreate and get a baby. And that is all he knows, really. He has no idea who his parents are and frankly, he has reached that point where he doesn’t care either. Of course, when you look different than everyone around you there are going to be remarks and responses, yet that has never really got to him.
Despite his parentage, he isn’t fluent in Feycraft at all. Lacking the proper guiding and support he has never been able to develop such skills. Yet, at a young age he already knew that he wanted to grow stronger, to be able to rise above all humans around him, to find something he could focus on. That is why he got taken in by a group called the Thorn Knights. There he went through quite harsh and rigurous training and is where he developed and honed most of his skills when it comes to martial arts and close combat. And there is where he has truly learned how to hate humans and how filthy they truly are. Eventually he has his head full of misanthropic ideas and plans, deeming himself so far above them that it would only be a matter of time before he would be able to oppose them.
Because of the fact he is of both worlds he is fairly aware of this strange force that flows between human society. And that is why it does not take long for him to attract a Daemon who wants to make use of a halfbreed who has quite a lot of hate towards the race that occupies most of this planet. Now Zamasu has never planned to become part of the Contracted, after all, he is quite content with the way he is going. Still, he underestimates how cunning Daemons can be and how they are able to get under his skin rather quickly. So finally he makes a ‘sweet’ deal: a significant amount of power and front row seats when the end of humanity comes for his own soul. Not bad, right?
Eventually, at the age of 19, he meets his current master Gowasu. Just like Zamasu he is also a halfbreed and way more in touch with his background than Zamasu himself is. Next to that the old man is also incredibly kind and patient. Exactly the opposite of everyone Zamasu has ever met in his life.
Gowasu teaches him how to use his talents for defensive situations and to make stellar tea. Next to that the old man tries to train him into using Feycraft. But for someone who is rather keen on being in control he absolutely lacks any sort of control to properly use it.
Finally, at the age of 23 Gowasu thinks it would be a good ‘lesson’ for Zamasu to become a teacher at Daybreak Academy. It would be a nice way to come in contact with the humans he hates so much and see their value. It would make him grow as a person and embrace who he fully is.
What Gowasu does not know is that Zamasu is quite content with who he is. And he is quite sure that does not need humans to realize such a thing…
AU PERSONALITY DEVIATION:
- Still very fond of himself but a little less of a narcissist.
- Still someone with quite unorthodox methods and ideas but a little less of a sociopath.
- Somewhat more approachable, especially in a position as a teacher he cannot exclude himself from what is going on at the school.
- While seeing the world in a very black and white way, he himself is that grey area. One side of him desires the end of humanity, but the other side of him wants to stay loyal to Gowasu.
- He isn’t a god, but he thinks he’s pretty special and he is very convinced that his view upon the world and upon teaching is absolute.
- Values Gowasu’s lessons more than he does in the actual series since he here he does acknowledge the important role the old man has played in his life
RACE:
Halfbreed (half Fey, half human)
SECRET SOCIETY:
Contracted (also still has ties to the Thorn Knights)
POWERS:
Natural abilities
- Hand-to-hand combat/martial arts: This ability comes natural to him. He has honed these skills well enough that some moves are able to deflect magic. Defeating him in a battle is not going to be easy.
Contracted Powers
- Super human speed: The only Daemon-related ability he uses in public. It syncs well with his martial arts abilities and enhances his moves.
- Telekinesis: He knows how to use it but is not fond of using it. Tends to be
kind of secretive about it.
Feycraft
- Materialising spiritual energy to blow things up (visible or invisible): He wants to control this but is extremely bad at it. That does not stop him from training these abilities.
HOUSING:
No preference.
